Solomon Grey – Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good) Rozalla cover

If you don’t recall the original house number by Rozalla you might be overlooking genius this is. Solomon Grey took what was anthemic house number and placed it into another world with a much more intimate setting. This version has a melancholy feel, orchestral elements and a bit of post apocalyptic feel. This cover would sit beautifully at the end of a movie of where this is mass destruction but the victors are finally free of tyranny. Yes, very cinematic.

Edwin Organ – The River

Fans of Hot Chip should really dig this track. It has that quirky quality that Hot Chip has in their music. The vocals I would say a bit better than Hot Chip since Edwin has a bit more depth to his voice. One of my favorite tracks at the moment – been on heavy rotation at home and in my car.

Edwin has this to say about the track, “The River is a song about love and mistakes. As humans we get caught up in a lot of things. Distractions can really get us in a pickle and its worse when hindsight presents us with all the signs we missed clear as day.”

GIAN – One Try

Had to sit with this one as it just kept getting better after multiple listens. His vocals remind me a bit of Kurt Cobain, can’t quite put my finger on it but there is something that reminds me of him. The build on the track is addicting. The first chorus is so sweet and short you can’t wait for it to come back around and really let loose. When you get to the 2nd chorus you get hooked and it’s only up from there. GIAN is a singer/songwriter from Malta.
