Ellie D. – The City (John Lock Remix)

Track has a bit of a Postal Service vibe in the verse section and jumps (in a good way) to bass heavy dance number in the chorus. On paper, you may think huh? But trust me, this works to great effect. The original has some interesting electronic textures and a more laid back vibe. The remix on the other hand entices the listener from the start and continues to build from the chorus on. Ellie D. is a singer / actress from LA. John Lock is a DJ, producer, writers, actor and musician who is also from LA.

Revelever – Future Forward (ft. Shannon Maree)

I have soft spot for any track that sounds like Vince Clarke produced during his Yazoo years. This track captures that vibe in perfect form. Granted, vocally it’s different from Alison Moyet but Shannon Maree makes this sound her own. It’s very similar to one of the more mellow Yazoo tracks. Overall, this track made me smile and I had to have it. I also love the cover art for this track.

Solon – Together All

Reminds me of Olive from back in the day but with a more EDM bent to it. He has a classical musicality to his work that also incorporates a driving beat and in this case a lovely vocal that floats above it all. I believe he is from Singapore, but don’t quote me on that though. Overall a refreshing airy quality that works for me.
