Sunday Drivers – Shout

Some where along the lines of Franz Ferdinand and The Killers comes Sunday Drivers.

Bio from last.fm

Not to be mistaken with The Sunday Drivers. Sunday Drivers are a Los Angeles based rock trio consisting of Brady Erickson on lead guitar and vocals, Marisa Dupuis on Bass and Bryan “Camaro” Zaebst on drums.

In 2007, Sunday Drivers saw the release of their first effort, the Archetypes EP. In spite of tracking and mixing sessions at studios in Canada and Los Angeles, Archetypes is ultimately a self-made album. In an effort that exemplified the principle of “coming full circle,” the 4 song EP was mixed in that same Hollywood apartment the band created the songs. Equally representing months of planning and moments of divine inspiration, the songs provide a perfect introduction to the band’s aesthetic and method, and (in line with it’s title) Archetypes sets the principle for a much larger set of tricks the trio has up their sleeve.

Bio taken for Last.fm:

The Presets are an electronic two piece based from Sydney, Australia. The Presets have been one of the biggest indie bands for the past few years in the Sydney area touring and supporting many well known bands such as 2 Many DJ’s and Ladytron. Their debut LP Beams combines electro, rock, techno, pop and a handful of other genres together in a seamless manner. They’ve also released a series of EP’s ( 2003’s Blow Up EP, 2004’s Girl and the Sea EP ) prior to their debut LP. The song “Girl and the Sea” appeared on “The OC” and the duo began getting a lot of radio airtime soon afterwards.

The Presets are Julian Hamilton on Synth/keyboard/vocals and Kimberly Moyes on Drums. They list New Order among many others as influences.
Their song “Are You The One?” was used on the hit US reality show “So You Think You Can Dance?” in August 2007.

Golden Animals – Do The Roar

Somewhat of a cross between The Beatles (think White Album) and Creedence Clearwater Revival with a slight dash of The White Stripes lands Golden Animals.   Tommy Eisner (Electric Guitar/Vocals) & Linda Beercoft (Drums/Vocals) sounds can be best described as Jangle guitars, Beatles-esque vocals, and a laid back vibe.
