I wrote the track at varying points, half when I was 15 & half now at 25. I produced it from my living room before bringing it into the studio to track live elements. Additional production elements go to Griffin Fornell (Småland). My sophomore EP STATE IM IN drops on JUNE 24 this month.

My name is Brandyn Burnette and I’m a 25-year-old singer/songwriter/producer originally from St. Louis. I picked up the piano by ear at 7 and started writing songs at 13. I’ve opened for Jon Bellion, John Mayer, Tori Kelly & James Bay. I’m currently 1/2 of the duo Cosmos & Creature, with my songwriting partner and girlfriend Molly Moore. The forthcoming ‘State I’m In’ EP is my second body of work, following my first record ‘Made of Dreams’, which I self-released last winter. I’m also a songwriter and have written songs for pop acts Jake Miller, MKTO, Charlie Puth. In 2012 I won a Juno Award for Hedley’s “Kiss You Inside Out”. That was my first charting record followed by two number 1’s in Spain with the boy-band Auryn.

This is the first project I am doing the majority of the producing on. It’s a departure of sorts from the soul/pop sound I released in 2014 back when I was on a major label. Since going independent, I’ve been able to craft my sound and style with a team of believers and friends. I call my sound progressive soul. I’m inspired by a wide variety but my favorite artist was John Mayer growing up. My first band that I obsessed over was the early Coldplay, one of my favorite songs of all time being “The Scientist”. Growing up in St. Louis also exposed me to a lot of hip-hop. To date, I’ve started my own label called Home Planet Records.
