Groovin, upbeat electronic track from Filthy Dukes which proudly displays their love of 80’s synths and drum machines. This track can be found on their full length album, “Nonsense In The Dark”.
Filthy Dukes are an alternative electronic band from London, UK.
Filthy Dukes were originally the duo, Olly Dixon and Tim Lawton. For the past five years they have deejayed around the world and promoted a club night called Kill Em All at fabric in London.
Olly and Tim were joined by record producer Mark Ralph in 2005. They started remixing and producing music together, and signed to Fiction records in January 2008.
Wanted to highlight a site I visit daily for new music called Thesixtyone.com. It’s a site where musicians and bands upload their tunes for bumps/hearts to have their tracks more less voted to the top of the boards. Similar to Digg, but for music. Seriously, it’s a great site with even greater content.
Here are some of the many tracks I have found thesixtyone.com :
Down and dirty track with a killer chorus hook from Dasan Ahanu, “To Get To You”. The Rap style of Kalu James on this track reminds me of Del The Funky Homosapien from the Gorillaz. Great Track!
Produces wonderfully “old school” electronic music in the vein of Kraftwerk and earlier works of LadyTron. At times the music reminds me of Komputer but with a more playful bounce (think Tom Tom Club).
For those who enjoy Lilly Allen, like myself, will dig this track from Anjulie. Anjulie mixes 60’s soul, pop, and electronic elements for a swaying melchonly tune. Anjulie – Addicted 2 Me
Passenger
Imaging an old smiths tune married to 60’s soul music and you’ll have Passenger.
