As Children of the 80s, we’ve seen a thing or two. We went from believing that electronic drums were the devil to knowing that they were the Son of God. We swore we’d never play guitar again, and then broke our promise, as we knew we eventually would. We carved “straight-edge” into our forearms and sterilized the wound with gin. We are a generation of contradictions. Show me a man without contradictions and blah blah blah blah something something.  Twin sisters from California meet boy from New Jersey. The Ladies of Sport.

NEW: Caribou – Odessa

Vocally this reminds me of Erlend Øye, and musically it reminds me of “The Whitest Boy Alive” remixes which feature Erlend Øye on vocals.  That’s a compliment by the way, and I love the new direction Dan Snaith has taken with his latest offering.  “Swim” is due out April 19th.

Caribou – Odessa

“I got excited by the idea of making dance music that’s liquid in the way it flows back and forth, the sounds slosh around in pitch, timbre, pan…dance music that sounds like it’s made out of water rather than made out of metallic stuff like most dance music does,” Snaith says

Sounds great to me!
