Kate Boy is a four member band consisting of lead singer Kate Akhurst and Markus Dextegen, Oskar Sikow Engström and Hampus Nordgren Hemlin of the Swedish trio Rocket Boy. Together they produce lively electronic pop music that is full of life. And while I await a new release from them, I thought I would re-share “In Your Eyes”.
Minimal instrumentation meets pop aesthetic and a lovely voice. Nina’s voice reminds me of a mix La Roux and Lorde, which is an excellent blend.

Take a little Freddie Mercury, add some ELO and bake it in a DFA Records oven and you’ve got Big Data’s, “The Stroke of Return (feat. Joywave)”. Big Data is a New York electronic pop duo of Daniel Armbruster (from the band Joywave), and producer/musician Alan Wilkis. Really looking forward to more music from these guys.
