The Familiar – Control

Chilly atmosphere that is leveled up with warm vocals. The vocal melody on this is what sold it for me. I love where she hits the higher notes on lyrics “from what’s nice and comfortable” — so pleasing to my ears. Give this track a full listen as it evolves and picks up more energy but never in a jarring way. This is production on a higher level.

Golan – Anima

Haunting and bleak but non the less beautiful. It’s introspect sound with minimal electronic tones that percolate in the background give the track a depth and atmosphere to fall into. Anima is Golan’s latest single from their awaited sophomore release due later this year.

Ben Leit – Worst Nights

Intimate pop track with subtle electronic textures. The chorus is really what caught my ear here. It’s tender and soft but has an edge to it. Ben Leit had this to say about the track:

“Worst Nights” is my debut single, and it’s a song about being alone. It took me a long time to record – mostly because of how personal the lyrics are – but also because I wanted to find the right balance between pensiveness and an upbeat pop tune.
