Laurel Smith – Game Over

Love the Pacman sounds mixed with the siren and a few other gamer tones that open up the track. It’s a moody electronic pop track with flourishes of Hip Hop. This track grows the more you listen to it. Production is superb and some of the vocal effect are priceless. Has a bit of an ELO reverence to them. The melody in chorus is catchy as all get out. The build is excellent and ending is on point.

Hiatus – Arrival

The best word to describe this track is Cinematic. It starts with a muted heart beat and a spoken word acting as a host of sorts. It talks about this journey of being human. Then a soft piano and heartfelt string/pad starts to fill out the picture. It keeps evolving in both the spoken word and the instrumentation and at the two minute mark the beat kicks in as if marking the next phase of our journey. Beautifully crafted and expertly executed. A pleasant surprise that elevates the genre to something deeper.

Alessiah – I Know

When a talented producer meets a stylized singer wrapped in a delicious melody it is irresistible. Ionut Catana produced a killer track with a deep bassline, strings and a solid house beat. The main melody just glides across and lands home in the chorus. Alessiah’s vocals radiate a longing to be loved from someone who is more worried about their image than love.
