Goodzie – Goodbye

Put simply, this track has a lovely melody. It has that melancholy flavor I love and the beat is solid. Production cranks up the energy with an interesting break around the 30 second mark before landing into the chorus. The lyrics seem to mark an end of a relationship sung from both perspectives. It has a mystery to it as well, since the listener is not given the full picture of what has transpired previously.

Yardhaus – Blame

A warm synth bass and a catchy melody go together like nuts and chocolate. Both are great on their own, but when combined both are elevated. This track has a such a delicious chorus with a smooth R&B feel to it. Production is bang on and the chorus energy is pumped up just enough to be in the pocket. Never over done, but attention getting and sits perfectly.

The artists had this to say about the track: “‘Blame’ is a hybrid between dance, pop, and electronic. The song is about knowing how a relationship will end, even from the start. It speaks to the toxicity and short-sighted nature of transactional relationships.”

Lena Luca – Rosebuds

Electro funk infused disco number with a very catchy chorus of ‘Pain or Pleasure’. Lena has crafted a very fun yet seductive tune that is cool and dance able. That synth flourish in the background during the chorus is such a nice touch and really adds to the mood. Lena Luca is based in Austin, Texas.
