Avipene – what’s wrong with me

A dreamy atmosphere is set in the new track from Avipene. The song is about being introspective and trying to make sense of one’s self when things are off. The lead line that’s played by a chime like sound has a wonderful melody. The overall atmosphere is perfectly cast and pulls the listener in. My favorite lyrics of the track are:

I don’t know what’s wrong with me

Treading water that nobody sees

I don’t know what’s wrong with me

Something must be missing where’s the piece

Cults – Spit You Out

Beautiful lead melody with gentle vocals adorn this new track from Cults. The musical elements paint an adoring picture with some trippy elements. The drums ground it to earth while the organs and synth elements take it to new grounds. The song focuses on parasitic relationships and how to break old patterns of interaction. Cults is the duo of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion.

Big Black Delta – Canary

Big Black Delta has been a favorite of mine going back to 2013 with Side of the Road. Since then every time I see a new release come across I get excited since his particular brand of electronic / pop / rock that is full of life in a 3-demensional way. His latest is a bit more edgier than recent outings. Has a stronger rock electro vibe that runs throughout. Vocals are spot on as usual and the energy is high – think more Nine Inch Nails towards the end of the track.
