Bubble Boat – Blue Lagoon

Upbeat fun tune for summer from French duo Bubble Boat. The chorus reminds me of an ELO melody that they would use. The production sports an almost slide guitar sound with a bouncing synth bassline and a Hawaiian-esque lead guitar. They have a knack for blending traditional instruments with electronic textures and sounds. Also for blending genres like pop, rock, and electronica.

Gravity Circus – Shuteye

This is the latest single from the duo Gravity Circus (Japanese Jimmy “Onibi” Nagaura Yabiko and Dutch German Ken “Toro” Luske). The track opens with up with a melancholy chord progression on acoustic guitar and Jimmy’s scratchy voice that is perfectly matched to the overall vibe. The track progresses to the chorus which is a blend of indie pop and electronica with it’s electronic textures that are tastefully placed. The melody of the chorus is beautiful as well as the ambience.

The song tells a tale of memories past that still haunt but with a yearning to let it be and to move forward.

Andrei Sora – Uber Blindfold Epicyon

Love when an instrumental can tell a story and that’s exactly what Andrei Sora did with Uber Blindfold Epicyon. It starts with a softer lead in the intro and then is struck with what sounds like an unfortunate series of events. The track, at least to my ears, has movements rather then verse/chorus since it evolves and takes the listener on a sonic voyage. The classic synths sounds are always a pull for me and there is plenty of that on this tune. Andrei Sora is a music producer from London by way of Romania.
