Absofacto – Someone Else’s Dream

Something about Jonathan Visger’s (aka Absofacto) voice and style remind me at times of the Beatles. He finds that sweet spot of melody and warmth which is very easy on the ear. His heart really shines through his music. This one in particular has a great chorus and that flourish of the distorted organ sound makes my day.

He had this to say about the tune: “This is sort of the sequel to my song Dissolve. It’s about being literally trapped inside someone else’s dream, and wanting to break out and do your own thing even if it might end in disaster. I wrote it about a time where I looked around at my life and realized I was surrounded by decisions other people made… and ended up making massive changes in my life after.”

JUICYPEAR – Rollercoaster

Track has that feel good energy all over it. It’s a bit modern disco with some strong soul vibes. That warm muted bass line with the glossy electric piano is the perfect bed for the warm vocals of Jasmine Mayeda. The overall production is spot on and feels like it should blaring at the pool party at sunset. Has a warm glow to the whole thing. The perfect setup to the dance party.

Justin Hartinger – Skin (feat. Tinsley)

This one I had to give some time to before it really hit me. It’s starts off a bit Trip Hop, similar to LAMB, but then takes a left turn and goes a bit glitch and has this mad bounce to it. It still carries the urban feel of the intro but the chorus really hits. The vocals provide a mood of melancholy and desire. The end of the track just leaves you wanting more.
