Lasse Løberg – O Leão

LasseSome what of a jazz vibe on this track.  Perfect music to wake up to while I drink my Bulletproof coffee and sit outside.  Has a bit of Trip Hop in it as well but it’s really soothing.

About this song

Here is the first solo EP of Lasse Løberg called “Fantoft Safari”. Travelling from Bergen to Cologne, from Amsterdam to Avignon, from Lisbon to Berlin – he collected his impressions and squeezed his samplers for a fresh mix of dillaesque beats, lindstrømish vibes and gilbertorian convenience. A smooth blend indeed. And a perfect companion for a lazy day at the fjord…

About this song

‘Overcome The Hurt’ is the first track that Dead Ott and Asher Dust worked on for their debut album ‘What Comes Around’. Asher Dust delves deep into his lyrical arsenal, and lets fly with a tale of never letting your demons get the better of you

What Comes Around’ is the debut collaboration between MC/producer Dead Ott and vocalist Asher Dust. Both hailing from Oxford, UK and with a wealth of recordings in their respective back catalogue’s, the two first teamed up in 2015 with the intention of recording a couple of features, but after working solidly for the past year those initial tracks have morphed into their thirteen track debut album. It’s a diverse sonic collection of broken beats, trip hop stylings and downtempo ditties all blessed with the unique vocal talents of Asher Dust. With subject matter ranging from youth violence (Flowers On The Concrete), identity (Losing Me), civil rights (Get Involved), to transgender issues (Friend Of Mine) and more, it’s clear that Asher Dust would get an A from Moe Dee for sticking to themes. Dead Ott’s productions branch off from his usual brand of UK Hip Hop, as the beats touch on trip hop, electronic, soul and more.

What Comes Around’ is available on digital download on 5th April 2016 from www.deadottasherdust.bandcamp.com

Michael Blume – Colors

MichaelBlumeColorsMicheal’s latest release is a blend of Neo-Soul with some trip hop and electronica elements lightly dashed in.  In this case, it all comes together wonderfully.

About this song

On July 15, 2016, Michael Blume will release his debut EP WHEN I GET IT RIGHT via S-Curve Records. The Harlem-based neo-soul artist first released a song called “Manufactured Love” in 2015 that led to Okayplayer calling him a “powerful new presence in the R&B world” and a #1 on Spotify’s “Alternative R&B” chart. His song “Colors” received over 60,000 spins on Soundcloud when it was posted and Pigeons and Planes said ” “Frank Ocean has inspired his fair share of imitators, but not many deserve the comparison. Michael Blume does, specially on his soaring ‘Colors.'” Michael was a student at Yale majoring in Latin Studies when he decided to become an artist and pursue songwriting. He traveled the world for school and spent time teaching music to children in Brazil when he realized this was his dream. He calls it his “second coming out” when he had to tell his parents that he wanted to be a musician after coming out to them as gay.
