Aubergine Machine – Hostage

Hostage

Aubergine Machine is electronic pop duo of Ian Carey (producer, writer, performer and dj) and Shanti Ellis (instrumentation and vocals).  On this particular track, they mix a downtempo vibe with a rubber synth lead and tech house chord stabs.

Bio:

The producer behind the group, Ian Carey has had 2 multi-platinum, 1 platinum and 2 gold sales certified records, an MTV Music Video award, and has toured as a DJ in over 60 countries, performing alongside Basement Jaxx, Avicii, Faithless, Diplo, Swedish House Mafia, Empire of the Sun and many others. Now he’s teamed up with vocalist Shanti Ellis to create a fresh, experimental sound with Aubergine MACHINE.

“For Hostage we went back to the future and used our favorite 90s trip hop/neo soul influences to produce a fresh, deep, ultramodern song. We really enjoyed working on this one because it felt very natural to leave a little space to make it a little bit dark.”

Kate Boy – In Your Eyes

kate-boy

Kate Boy is a four member band consisting of lead singer Kate Akhurst and Markus Dextegen, Oskar Sikow Engström and Hampus Nordgren Hemlin of the Swedish trio Rocket Boy.  Together they produce lively electronic pop music that is full of life.  And while I await a new release from them, I thought I would re-share “In Your Eyes”.

Nina Yasmineh – Prophecy

NinaYasmineh

Minimal instrumentation meets pop aesthetic and a lovely voice. Nina’s voice reminds me of a mix La Roux and Lorde, which is an excellent blend.

This track is taken from Nina’s just released EP, Finest Hour. The entire EP is awaiting your attention!
