Kaada – Care

What does country guitar picking, R&B vocals from the motown era, slide guitar, drum samples, and a 1950’s slow jam all have in common?   Well, they are used to make this wonderful collage by Kaada entitled, “Care’.   Kaada is from Norway and makes his own brand of electronica.   This track can be found on his 2003 release entitled, “Thank You For Giving Me Your Valuable Time”.   More recently Kaada has devoted his time to movie scores such as the motion picture “O’Horten” [2008].

Imogen Heap – Glittering Cloud (Plague of Locusts)

imogen_heap.jpg

So in lieu of the soon to be released track from Imogen Heap for the television show Heroes (which you can hear a preview of by watching Imogen’s video blog here) as well as her 3rd solo album due in March, I have a cut from a 4AD compilation that was released 0ct of 2006 entitled, “Plague Songs by Various Artist”.     The premise for this compilation was to have artists write a song of one of the ten biblical plaques from the book of exodus.     Rather interesting proposition I think to myself…

Temposhark – Don’t Mess With Me

temposhark.jpg

This particular track reminds me of Frou-Frou meets a really pissed off EMO Martin Gore from Depeche Mode. And funny enough, which I didn’t even realize until I started to listen to the entire album from Temposhark is that non other than Frou Frou front women Imogen Heap lends guest vocals on a track called, “Not That Big”. This track is taken from the forth coming debut album “The Invisible Line” which will be released in March 2008.

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temposhark

Temposhark are an English electronic rock band, formed in London by singer and songwriter Robert Diament with programmer Luke Busby. Temposhark are best known for their songs Joy, It’s Better To Have Loved and Not That Big, a duet with singer Imogen Heap, which feature on their 2008 debut album The Invisible Line. Other notable artist collaborations include Guy Sigsworth, Sean McGhee, Youth (aka Martin Glover from Killing Joke), Kate Havnevik and the virtuoso violinist Sophie Solomon.
