This brings back some memories, well the original from Depeche Mode that is. I was so happy to find this on a cassette of “Rare” Depeche Mode tracks that I purchased at a record convention. Yes, I use to frequent flea markets and record conventions to find tracks I couldn’t otherwise find. This of course was pre-internet days. Anyway, I found out later that this track was actually the b-side of Dreaming of Me, the 7″. Live and learn. But it wasn’t all for not, I also got a live rendition of “Mouldy Old Dough”, a track I never heard of and for good reason, it wasn’t that good. Also got, “I Like It ” which was a track I was happy to listen too.
Creative production gelled to the pleasant vocals of lead singer Rob Taylor. Makes me happy to hear Rob’s voice slid in and out of those higher registry notes. Think The Presets (in their more quite moments) matched up with TEED (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur) and a splash of Soft Cell for good measure.

Press Release:
Knocking Ghost is an electronic trio from London and Dublin. Rob Taylor (Vox/Synth), Neil Quinlan (Synth/Bass) and Andy Hobson (Live Drums) started as a remix collective called Starshapes, doing remixes for Bastille and Erasure. In late 2012 they decided to make their own music which lead to the release of their debut EP ‘Distractions’ in late January 2013. Their singles were featured on several international Indie playlists, blogs and radio stations. After spending the last couple of months in a studio working on new tracks, Knocking Ghost are now back with a catchy new single. ‘Soul Aspiration’ includes the B-side ‘Fools’ and a Joe Marshall remix. The band describes their music as a mix of “contemporary dance floor music with part late 70’s early 80’s pop and always something with a big brooding soul and a silver lining.”
