Jai Paul – BTSTU

Happy Friday and with it comes a killer new track from Jai Paul.  This track starts off really quiet, so hang-in there for about 15 seconds.

Delicate vocals, dark throbbing bass, and diplo-esque beats adorn this track. Got this tip from Dan Black, via his tweet, “Dan__Black: RT @ads_b: The unknown UK producer that @dan__black has on high rotation: http://ow.ly/2chah

Also found this Dan Black quote from http://adambaidawi.com/blog, which is probably the best description of this track:

“He’s got something unique–it’s weird. Somewhere in between Burial and Prince: sort of dubstep, haunting vocals…really amazing. I think that kid’s going to end up being huge. I think it’s the first or second thing he’s posted.”

I agree with Dan completely, I have had this stuck on repeat for the entire morning.  Beautiful, sublime, and engaging — what more do you need?

Private – My Secret Lover

Sporting classis sounds from funk and pop of the 80’s, Private delivered one hell of a catchy tune in, “My Secret Lover”.  Lead singer Thomas Troelsen singing sits firmly in an 80’s era of DeBarge, Micheal Jackson, and Rockwell, which fits perfectly in this era drenched pop masterpiece.

The Amplifetes – Somebody New

The Amplifetes are a sort 4 piece super collective from Sweden — yes, as in the same place that has already produced Miike Snow, Peter Bjorn and John, and The Hives — the Swedes are killing it as of late.  The Amplifetes are about to release their first full length album at the end of the month.   Taken from it are the following tracks that are full of dance energy and enough pop sparkle to shine any Friday right up.
