Friendly Fires – Paris (Aeroplane Remix- Joe DiPadova Edit)

joedipadova

I did a previous post on Aeroplane’s remix of Friendly Fires, “Paris” here.   Now comes a deep house re-edit of said remix courtesy of   Joe DiPadova.

Joe DiPadova bio from O.N.E. :

Joe DiPadova (de-PAH-de-vah) performs from coast to coast, frequently playing the very best events with the very best djs at his side. Quickly building a worldwide reputation as one of Global Soul’s young rising stars, Joe’s adept combination of DJ and music production talent, coupled with a kind, down-to-earth nature have allowed him to garner the respect and friendship not only of many deeply involved with the music, but of crowds across North America.

Apart from DJing and production, one of the largest manifestations of his musical vision has come through event promotion, including his ongoing event in Phoenix called ONE (One People, One Soul, One Love). At this gathering, DiPadova brings together people of all color and sexual orientation through a common spool of thread – expression through dance and love of music.

With eye on the forefathers of the past and an ear to the progression of the future, Joe DiPadova has become a disciple through music, serving to make positive change via rhythm & dance. Whether it’s through his deep and introspective productions or his music selections in Disco, Funk, Soul, Jazz & Techno based dance music with African and Latin rhythms, DiPadova’s vocabulary in music transcends generations, continents and consciousness while interweaving gatherings of people into one elevated symposium of dance.

Music on thesixtyone.com: FM Belfast, Passenger,Kid A, Red Sky Lullaby, and many more…

Wanted to highlight a site I visit daily for new music called Thesixtyone.com. It’s a site where musicians and bands upload their tunes for bumps/hearts to have their tracks more less voted to the top of the boards. Similar to Digg, but for music. Seriously, it’s a great site with even greater content.

Here are some of the many tracks I have found thesixtyone.com :

kid_a

Kid A

KiD A – Smudge (CINEMAX)

red-sky-lullaby

Red Sky Lullaby

Down and dirty track with a killer chorus hook from Dasan Ahanu, “To Get To You”. The Rap style of Kalu James on this track reminds me of Del The Funky Homosapien from the Gorillaz. Great Track!

Red Sky Lullaby – Love Sick (ft. Dasan Ahanu and Kalu James)

fm_belfast

FM Belfast

Produces wonderfully “old school” electronic music in the vein of Kraftwerk and earlier works of LadyTron. At times the music reminds me of Komputer but with a more playful bounce (think Tom Tom Club).

FM Belfast – Underwear

FM Belfast – VHS

marryathief

Marry A Thief

Has Postal Service sentiments with Imogen Heap soundscapes, not a bad combo at all.
Marry A Thief – Honestly Bored

anjulie

Anjulie

For those who enjoy Lilly Allen, like myself, will dig this track from Anjulie. Anjulie mixes 60’s soul, pop, and electronic elements for a swaying melchonly tune.
Anjulie – Addicted 2 Me

passenger

Passenger

Imaging an old smiths tune married to 60’s soul music and you’ll have Passenger.

Passenger – Walk You Home
