Jeppe – Johhny Come Home (Fine Young Cannibals cover)

Just found my new love, it’s Jeppe Laursen.   Jeppe Laursen was one half of Junior Senior (the other half being, Jesper Mortensen), who scored a huge hit with “Move Your Feet“.   Late 2008, both members called it quits to pursue solo ventures.   And the first effort for Jeppe was this   cover of Fine Young Cannibals’ ‘Johnny Come Home’.   Jeppe recently also lent his voice to Classixx’s track called “I’ll Get You”.   Looking forward to Jeppe’s 2010 releases!   Warning — Shameless Plug: Jeppe, in case you’re reading this, would love to hear your voice on a track of mine — listen here for a taste of my work: http://www.thesixtyone.com/theoddyear/

Slightly off topic was a tweet from Jeppe that “Kelis’ Accapella is so Andy Bell (of Erasure) it cracks me up”.   Sure enough, Jeppe is spot on.   Not really a Kelis fan, but this track I’m actually feeling.

Parralox – Europa

Parralox

Sugary mix of pop vocals and electronic beats, but wait till the chorus hits to make up your mind.  The chorus is absolutely delicious.   Reminds me of a mix between erasure and Annie.

Bio:

Parralox was formed in 2008. Parralox leaked their debut track on myspace and within a matter of weeks the electronic community had embraced them, as the reviews above testify. This led to the band being included on the Electronically Yours Vol 1 Compilation CD (UNDO Records/EMI Greece). Amii is an English born vocalist is currently living in Australia.

Amii has extensive experience as a performer and vocalist and has worked on many TV commercials as session vocalist. Her father is the guitarist for the legendary UK Punk Band “The Zips” so music is in her blood!

John Von Ahlen has been writing and producing music for over 15 years. His production/collaboration credits include Big Brother Australia, Delta Goodrem, Olivia Newton-John, Gina G, Belinda Emmett, Rove Live (TV Theme), skitHouse (TV Theme), Queer As Folk, The Wog Boy (Soundtrack), Tabula Rasa (Soundtrack), Johnny X, Mr Jones, Craig Heath, Real Life, Angelspit and Tankt.
