  • Evie Irie – Little More Love

No doubt this girl has a voice. She reminds me of Sting’s daughter who used to go by the artist named, ‘I Blame Coco’. Positive message in the track and production is stellar. The song is well crafted and has a nice melody. The video is all inclusive and shares the positive message of the track.

    VERSE
Take a hit it’ll help you calm down
    I know that you’re tired
Don’t you wanna be one of the cool kids now
One of the cool kids now

Get a grip everybody gets around
Pull that dress a little higher
Everybody’s doing just a little more now
    Just a little more now

    PRE-CHORUS
Hurry up, hurry up make your choice
No one’s gonna hear your voice
All of this anxiety Creeping up inside of me, stop

    CHORUS
We just need a little more love
People taking care of each other
You’re my sister, you are my brother
Yeah we just need a little more love
Starve the hate and feed the kindness
Put all of the fear behind us

We just need a little more love, love
    Just a little more x3

    VERSE
Everybody knows that boys don’t cry
Just keep it all inside you
You don’t want to show no one your weakness now
    Cause it’s not allowed

They laugh at what you’re wearing
    And it’s way overdone
Now your holding back tears, while you’re holding a gun
If anyone would listen, even just one
Think of what could be done x2

    CHORUS
We just need a little more love
People taking care of each other
You’re my sister, you are my brother
Yeah we just need a little more love
Starve the hate and feed the kindness
Put all of the fear behind us

We just need a little more love, love
    Just a little more x3

    BRIDGE
    Shine your light
    Cause you never know
    Who’s in the darkness
    Please don’t be heartless

    Shine your light
    Cus only heaven knows
    When someone’s hurtin’
    It’s always worth it

    CHORUS

  • The Noise FM – Cooler Heads Prevail

Leaning on the indie-rock side is the latest offering by the trio known as The Noise FM. The melody is what jumped out at me on this one. In addition, the synth elements mixed in with the more rock-esque sound sets up the track to be enjoyed in a live setting. The track itself already sounds like it was played live and recorded. It’s has a certain texture and vibe that you are listening to it in a live venue.

    Lyrics:

    Have I remained calm enough?
    Have I been too dominant?

    What went wrong?
    Stop, kill the alarm

    Have I remained tame enough?
Or did I get too strong, no, no,

    Something’s wrong
    Stop, we’re supposed to fail
If we can just hold on
    Until cooler heads prevail

Don’t wait until the moment is gone

    Have I been warned enough?
Did I obey, did I deny
    No, what went wrong
No one’s too big to fail
    It cycles on
    Until cooler heads prevail

Don’t wait until the moment is gone
    Don’t push away
    Don’t look away
Don’t wait until the moment is gone
  • Elliot Moss – I Heard!

Elliot Moss just released a catchy and hypnotic tune named ‘I Heard!’. Clever lyrics, a repetitive chord and a grooving bass is the framework for ‘I Heard!’. Elliot Moss had this to say about the track “‘I Heard’ is about being trapped by the idea of happiness. That there’s always something better for you, but you don’t know how to get it. Or can’t get it right now,”

I like the subtle effects on his vocals as well the sax that lands later in the track.
