Electro funk infused disco number with a very catchy chorus of ‘Pain or Pleasure’. Lena has crafted a very fun yet seductive tune that is cool and dance able. That synth flourish in the background during the chorus is such a nice touch and really adds to the mood. Lena Luca is based in Austin, Texas.
What can I say, it’s GusGus and when they are on there is no denying the love. This track is shining example of a truly inspired GusGus track. There is always heart in their music and a dash of melancholy. There is a dreamy quality to this new release and the vocals of Vok elevates it to new highs. That stinging bass sound is harsh and sharp but gives the track another pulse.
Reminds me of Kate Boy with its metallic sheen on the track. Has a crisp rezzy sounding bass and the vocals elevate the track to the next level. The production really brings the electronic elements to a neon blaze. This is 80’s inspired electronic pop done to perfection. Has energy galore and production is top shelf. One of my favorite tracks this year.
