Not only is “To Cut A Long Story Short” the first single ever from Spandau Ballet, it was also Vince Clarke‘s inspiration to write Depeche Mode‘s “Just Can’t Get Enough“,[1] to which the keyboard style bears a certain similarity.

Addicting chorus on this track and in particular the line of “so i’m not trying ” — my personal fav.
