  • Robots in Disguise – Postcards From

    Dee Plume and Sue Denim met each other at the University of Liverpool and formed the electro-pop band, Robots in Disguise.   This track in particular has a subtle synth pad sound for a bass line which is colored with an acoustic guitar and a very acoustic snare drum and rim shot that punches through the mix.   The vocals are very art school.

    They describe their sound as, “… Indie, punk, funk, rock. That sounds a bit pretentious doesn’t it? It’s a bit of everything with an electro backing and two vocals harmonizing.”

  • Sufjan Stevens – In The Words Of The Governor

    Taken from the forthcoming music compilation from Believer magazine is Sufjan Stevens with an origial rock track called, “In The Words Of The Governor”.   Lo-fi almost grungy guitar work at play here with Sufjan Stevens vocals edging on Pixes territory, but as always Sufjan Stevens delivers.

  • Sons And Daughters – Gilt Complex

    This track pounds with unrelenting guitars, driving rhythms, and sexy vocals.   Oh, and hand claps… yes, I’m a sucker for hand claps, so sue me.   This track comes from their third album called, “The Gift”, which was released this last October and can  be purchased here.
