  • NEW: Hot Chip – I Feel Better

Beautiful melancholy and sweeping vocals adorn this track.  I can see some great remixes generated from this track in the future.  And the steel drum  makes an appearance here too, just like in  One Life Stand

NEW: Hot Chip – I Feel Better

Lyrics (from what I can decipher):

    she said
how did we get ourselves so lost
    but I said
    I don’t know
but we will not be leaving tonight, tonight
    when you hold me
    I, I feel better
    I only want one life
    together in our arms
    this is the longest night
    we’re meeting arms to arms
    nothing is wasted
    and life is worth living
    heaven is nowhere
    just look to the stars
    there is a daylight
    it’s yours for embracing
    everything is nothing
    and nothing is ours

Latest track from the forthcoming album from Hot Chip is a electronic burner that steadily moves along with a   steel drum   accompaniment.   The old analogue synths on this track remind me of the types of sounds Depeche Mode would use in their early years, which is a treat for this D-mode fan.

God, I’m loving this…   First thing that came to my mind upon hearing this track is I thought it sounded like Joy Division — whom I love.   Has a dark and foreboding characteristic of classic Joy Division.   Then sprinkle the electronic goodness that the guys from Hot Chip always seem to be well stocked in and there ya have it.   A stunning piece of music, really looking forward to hearing more.   Track can be found in “A Bugged Out Mix by Hot Chip“.

    Taken from Bugged Out:

Hot Chip have followed in the footsteps of Erol Alkan, Miss Kittin, Klaxons and Felix Da Housecat in compiling A Bugged Out Mix, their first compilation since DJ Kicks in 2007. The album comprises a ‘Bugged Out’ club side featuring the kind of techno and house Felix and Al play out (with tracks from John Tejada, Mark Romboy, Dominik Eulberg & Gabriel Ananda and a new Hot Chip tune called ‘Take It In’) and a ‘Bugged In’ side which is a house party mix thrown down by Joe, Alexis and Owen which includes everything from Dizzee Rascal to Hall & Oates, greco-Roman Soundsystem to one of their early influences Dub Narcotic Soundsystem.
