    SUNSHINE INTO MY LIFE

    Press Release

Two of the World’s most inspirational names in dance music have united to form a new leading label – VG Records.
Pop icon Boy George and super producer Marc Vedo have collaborated under the pseudonym ‘Funkysober’ to produce a sun-kissed track that’s destined for Global success. Sunshine Into My Life has already notched up support from the biggest DJs and dance music, and Vedo’s Tribal mix is set for every dance floor in the land.
Following a non-stop, sell-out European tour with ‘Night Of The Proms’ in 2010 where Boy George performed to over 15,000 fans a night, one of the World’s most recognizable figures is officially back on mainstream music’s radar for good. Having recently recorded a track for Mark Ronson’s album ‘The Business International’, George and Mark Ronson continue to work together and both appeared at The Roundhouse on February 16th 2011.
Sharlene Hector rose to fame as ‘The Coca Cola Girl’ – laying down her vocals to produce one of the company’s most memorable ads of all time. Since then she has worked with Basement Jaxx and tracks for Defected, Warner, and Purple.

  • Get People – Rain Tears

Wonderfully melodic with joyous highs and  melodramatic  lows, and all framed by a enjoyable dance groove.

    Get People – Rain Tears

RAIN TEARS EP by GET PEOPLE

    Press Release:
Picking up where last year’s Careless/Odyssey double A-side left off, Get People’s sophomore EP release Rain Tears is another slice of infectious, intelligent pop music. Rain Tears will be released on Friends vs Records on July 11th 2011.

The tribal-infused, dance pop produced by the London trio, comprised of Dom, Caspar and Martin, is perfectly placed to do well this summer on the back of plaudits from Radio 1, The Fly, XFM and Music Week, alongside a huge amount of blog hype via Abeano, My Band is Better Than your Band and Illegal Tender. Their unique remixes of other artists, including Is Tropical, Mystery Jets, Morning Parade and The Wombats, have also seen the band featured by Rob Da Bank and released by Kitsuné. Only existing for just over a year, the band’s immediate success and depth of vision is impressive to say the least.

The enveloping haziness of the EP’s eponymous lead track is both elegiac and danceable, a clear demonstration of the band’s ability to create tropical, club-worthy tunes with an emotionally-charged basis. Across the record’s remaining three tracks, Get People perfectly fuse dance, indie and world influences, bringing to life a sound awash in marimbas, synths and tape loops.

With their aforementioned debut single selling out in weeks, and shows and tours with the likes of Metronomy, The Wombats and Crystal Fighters already under their belts, the band’s self-produced, sun-kissed sound is sure to raise many heads in 2011. Rain Tears will be released on Friends vs Records on July 11th.

  • Hercules & Love Affair – Painted Eyes

My Love Affair continues with Herc & Co., who are back with yet another smouldering disco track from their latest effort, “Blue Songs”.  This is there latest single from said album and is destined for a vaguely lit dance floor near you.

Hercules & Love Affair – Painted Eyes

On  Blue Songs, Hercules’ mastermind Andy Butler has shifted the focus gently away from the New York house and disco forms of the debut; relocating to Denver and recording the album in Vienna with techno producer Patrick Pulsinger. Kim Ann Foxman returns on vocals, and is joined in starring roles by Venezuelan singer Aerea Negrot, fan-turned-collaborator Shaun Wright , Kele Okereke (Bloc Party) and Mark Pistel (Meat Beat Manifesto/Consolidated).  Blue Songs sees Butler broaden his musical palette   – “There’s definitely jacking house and there’s definitely even more full-blown disco, but there’s also more experimental, softer music” he explains. Be sure to catch the band on their extensive US tour as part of the Identity Festival to coincide with the release this summer.
