Latroit – Don’t Give Up ft Charlz (Peter Gabriel cover)

Doing an excellent job of retaining the feel of the original but also transmuting that vibe into a new house framework. Give it till the two minute mark to really set in. Hopefully we get a longer edit of this track as the currently 3:16 seems to short for this track. LATROIT is recently best know for his GRAMMY Award for ‘Best Remixed Recording’ – Depeche Mode ‘You Move (Latroit Remix). Charlz also does an excellent job here with her shimming vocals and tone. This is the first release on Jason Bentley’s (KCRW) new record label Secret Technology.

TTRRUUCES – The Disco

This disco is apparently in the Caribbean with a rock guitar. The rhythm on this is has a tropical vibe and is accented with disco string stabs. The song is catchy, has a solid beat and overall fun vibe to it. I can hear quite a bit of Micheal Jackson influence on this track from how the vocals are sung to the Caribbean beat. Of course, there is the classic disco sound of lasers on this track as well, which reminds me of Lipps Inc. – Funky Town

Lyrics:

You say you love me but then you don't answer the phone
Saturday night at the disco you're dancing alone

You were never convinced by what your mama would say
And she'll never forgive you no way-o
She said boy you better work all day
'cause you're every night at the disco

Boy - you're every night at the disco

L’Imperatrice – Fou (Poolside remix)

Well crafted tune that was made a tiny bit better by Poolside. This is not a knock on Poolside, for whom I have great appreciation for. It’s just the original was so well done to begin with and why I posted it a few months here.

This remix puts a bit more of a relaxed sunshine vibe that Poolside is known for. Some of the more disco elements still shine though but with a more tropical twist.
