Mat Hours – La Roue
An instrumental track really has to stand out for me to take notice and that is exactly what happened when I heard the latest from Mat Hours. Fans of Mylo (who put on a clinic with his highly acclaimed album, “Destroy Rock & Roll”) is a rare example of true artistry with sonic textures. “La Roue” now sits next to this high water mark. The track uses a tapestry of piano, vocal bits and a funky bassline. Very few do it this well and is sure to be in my best of 2017 short list.

Mr.Kitty – Habits (feat. PASTEL GHOST)
If you liked the soundtrack to the movie Drive (starring Ryan Gosling) then you’ll love this number from Mr. Kitty. It’s a moody synthpop number with whispered vocoder vocals.
