Nothing irritates me more than over looking a song on an album, and that’s exactly what I did with this track. So, file this under better late than never. Amazingly understated and restrained is this bit of pop from Metronomy.

Smooth as always is Jeremy Greenspan (lead singer of Junior Boys) with a backing track produced by Kelley Polar who I have missed since his 2008 album, “I Need You to Hold On While the Sky Is Falling”.
Selena Gomez & The Scene – Love You Like A Love Song
This is what I get when I pay too little attention to Top 40. I just heard this song on the radio and loved it, I had no idea who it was but after a quick google search for “I Love You Like A Love Song” did the name Selena Gomez showed up.
Now don’t let the name throw you off this track, this track (minus the dub step-esque bassline line in the chorus) is a solid mid-tempo disco track.
The production, as one would assume for Top 40, is of course spot-on, but it’s the melody in the verses that slay me. It’s just the right amount of heart ache and pop, a perfect blend.
