Make me happy music here folks. For those that follow this blog know I have a soft spot for 80’s synth pop and in particular anything related to depeche mode. Though in this post, it’s a matter of 1 degree removed, as in Vince Clark founding member left the band to create Yazoo and later Erasure. Andy Bell (front man and singer for Erasure) has just released his new solo effort called, “Non-Stop”. See, it’s related : P
Anyhoo, here are two remixes that have the “sweet spot” for me. The first is by “Hey Champ” and they take Andy’s album cut and infused some polished disco dust on it. I actually prefer this remix over the album version.
Andy Bell – Call On Me (Hey Champ Remix)
The second is the winner, and rightly fully so, of the recent remix contest Andy had for his track, “Say What You Want”. This remix was created by a Ste Ashworth. I have no idea who Ste is, but I sure as hell loved how he framed Andy’s voice in an Erasure-esque backing track. Love it!
