Zola Blood – Heartbeat

Heartbeat

Zola Blood has just released this rather introspective and heartfelt track from their forthcoming album, ‘Infinite Games’.

About this song

Zola Blood return with the first single from their self-produced debut album, ‘Infinite Games.’

Heartbeat was written and recorded in the band’s Hackney studio and takes cues from the likes of techno heroes Matthew Dear and Trentemoller, blending layers of sumptuous percussion, analogue synths and atmospheric guitars.

Musically it reflects the band’s love of the dance music that pervades the area where they work into the night. Hang drums and acoustic guitars combine in complex rhythms and give way to a euphoric climax, while the lyrics tell the story of a relationship that should never have been.

Zola Blood – Play Out

Melancholy enchantment that beckons seductively.  Reminds me somewhat of Radiohead, Kid A material.
