Supergrass – Diamond Hoo Ha Man

supergrass.jpg

This March we will see the return of brit-pop band, Supergrass and from the forth coming album we have the title track single, “Diamond Hoo Ha Man”.   This track explodes with fuzzy guitars and straight in your face vocals.   Reminds me more of White Stripes stripped down blues sound meets Supergrass vibe.

Morrissey – That’s How People Grow Up

morrisey.jpg

From the forth coming greatest hits album (due out February12th), we get two new tracks one if which is “That’s How People Grow Up” and the other being “All You Need Is Me”.   I personally haven’t really been taken by most of Morrissey’s solo efforts, but there have been the occasional standout tracks but collectively no where near the mark that the Smiths have left on my heart.

My Robot Friend – 23 Minutes in Brussels (extended mix)

my_robot_friend.jpg

My Robot Friend (aka Howard Robot) comes from the emerging New York City’s underground electronic scene.   He’s opened for such acts as Le Tigre, Herbert, and Scissor Sisters.   From what I’ve read, he’s live shows are something to behold.   His shows have been described as Laurie Anderson meets Wizard of Oz complete with neon lights and pyrotechnics.

And is it just me (or this it could just be the result of listening to too much Depeche Mode), but I can swear I hear a sample in the background from the song “Pipeline” off the Construction Time Again LP.
