MILKBLOOD – SICK OF BEING HONEST

New duo comprised of two producers leads to new electro-pop tune with funk and soul. It’s a synth drenched tune with a laid back beat and a funky synth bass. The duo spent a weekend in Big Bear, California and the first track produced was ‘Sick of Being Honest’. It was a no holds bar weekend for them to produce with inspiration. MILKBLOOD is David Dahlquist and Pat Morrissey. This track can be found on their EP ‘VOID’.

Aili x Transistorcake – Dansu

If you have never watched, or more importantly, never listened to music from Killing Eve you are missing out. Not only is the show well done but who ever the music supervisor is, my hat is off to them. The show showcases some of the best 60’s/70’s inspired pop and rock with a bit of international flair. And this is exactly what we have with the new track from Aili and Transistorcake. The track is sung in both Japanese and English and sports a 60’s esque bass guitar that drives the tune. And let’s not forget rocking beat that underpins the whole track.

Hiatus – Arrival

The best word to describe this track is Cinematic. It starts with a muted heart beat and a spoken word acting as a host of sorts. It talks about this journey of being human. Then a soft piano and heartfelt string/pad starts to fill out the picture. It keeps evolving in both the spoken word and the instrumentation and at the two minute mark the beat kicks in as if marking the next phase of our journey. Beautifully crafted and expertly executed. A pleasant surprise that elevates the genre to something deeper.
