Here’s a track that will get everyone to the dance floor. This electro/house number is courtesy of Sebastien Leger & Chris Lake, called “Aqualight”. Has great builds and a lead hook to die for. Arpeggiated synth rides along top creating a cool harmony and a swankier groove. This track was taken from thier EP named, “MISTAKES EP”.
Ok, so my guilty pleasure of the year is the tv show, “So You Think You Can Dance”.
For those of you that missed this gem of reality tv, it’s a dance show and competition similar to the premise of American Idol. Anyway, aside from being a fun and addicting show every once in a while I’ll hear a track they use for a dance routine that just blows me away. The Presets - Are You The One is such a track. This electro/rock tune by the Australian Presets has a very sleazy feel (think soft cell esque meets LCD Soundsystems) and hand claps… I just love me some Hand Claps…
This remix of Sting’s A Thousand Years has a light splattering of electronic elements, a dope dub bassline, and world sounding elements throughout. Nice, chilled, and relaxing.
This track is a massive wall of sound similar to shoegazing acts like Lush, Slowdive, and Cocteau Twins. Give this track a minute or two to be drawn in and drowned in a beautiful mix of electronic bliss and dreamy vocals.
Meduse has swelling vocals that ebb and flow to a soothing wall of sound and a climactic wash, that has a little harder hitting action to it compaired to “Stars”
Don’t you just love it when you listen to a great album, wonder when the next album will be released, and then find out in just a matter of minutes online that a new album is just around the corner? That happed today when I did a search on She Wants Revenge. Their freshmen outing was a great album from start to finish. Their sophomore outing title, “This is Forever” is due in stores October 9th, 2007!
Don’t know much about this group other than I love this song. Has a similar feel to a Postal Service track and feels like a missing track from the Garden State soundtrack. It’s a catchy synth pop track taken from their EP “Die Silence Die”.
