“I got excited by the idea of making dance music that’s liquid in the way it flows back and forth, the sounds slosh around in pitch, timbre, pan…dance music that sounds like it’s made out of water rather than made out of metallic stuff like most dance music does,” Snaith says
Sounds great to me!
Vocally this reminds me of Erlend Øye, and musically it reminds me of “The Whitest Boy Alive” remixes which feature Erlend Øye on vocals. That’s a compliment by the way, and I love the new direction Dan Snaith has taken with his latest offering. “Swim” is due out April 19th.
NEW: Roisin Murphy – Mamma’s Place
New music from the very talented Roisin with a dance track that captures some early 90’s house flavor. Cannot wait to hear her a full length or EP or whatever she has in the works.
Chew Lips – Slick
Enjoying the melancholy of this electronic pop track from Chew Lips. Must admit this fits nicely between my Hot Chip and Little Dragon tunes on my ipod. They are set to release a full lenght this coming January.
Bio:
Chew Lips are three kids from London (Tigs, Will and James).
They play lo-fi tech tunes that are infectious and have been together since about March 2008
