The Noise FM – Cooler Heads Prevail

Leaning on the indie-rock side is the latest offering by the trio known as The Noise FM. The melody is what jumped out at me on this one. In addition, the synth elements mixed in with the more rock-esque sound sets up the track to be enjoyed in a live setting. The track itself already sounds like it was played live and recorded. It’s has a certain texture and vibe that you are listening to it in a live venue.

Lyrics:

Have I remained calm enough?
Have I been too dominant?

What went wrong?
Stop, kill the alarm

Have I remained tame enough?
Or did I get too strong, no, no,

Something’s wrong
Stop, we’re supposed to fail
If we can just hold on
Until cooler heads prevail

Don’t wait until the moment is gone

Have I been warned enough?
Did I obey, did I deny
No, what went wrong
No one’s too big to fail
It cycles on
Until cooler heads prevail

Don’t wait until the moment is gone
Don’t push away
Don’t look away
Don’t wait until the moment is gone

Moncrieff – Playloud

A little anarchy is needed to change things up sometimes. Moncrieff has crafted a very addicting tune that doesn’t hold anything back. It’s in your face anthem with a bit of Pixies energy (think ‘Where Is My Mind’ vibe). The drums and guitar are first-class and overall production is killer. Moncrieff is singer/songwriter based in Ireland.

Lyrics:
We’re all living in a simulation
Taking pills for over stimulation
Talking to avoid the conversation
When September ends we will awaken

And every president is on the payroll
If you wear a uniform then what you say goes
I’m a fucking unicorn if i say so

We chase our dreams while you spread your lies
Build castles in the sky
Heaven knows we’re all gonna die

So fuck your opinions
And fuck your decisions
And fuck politicians
And fuck your permission

We lost our minds
We’re feeling better now
The kids are high
And they’re never coming down

Generation z - expectations high
I'll decide how i wanna waste my life
Flipping through the pages read between the lines
Mass incarceration of the youth’s your crime

We chase our dreams while you spread your lies
Build castles in the sky
Heaven knows we’re all gonna die

So fuck your opinions
And fuck your decisions
And fuck politicians
And fuck your permission
We lost our minds
We’re feeling better now
The kids are high
And they’re never coming down

Cults – Spit You Out

Beautiful lead melody with gentle vocals adorn this new track from Cults. The musical elements paint an adoring picture with some trippy elements. The drums ground it to earth while the organs and synth elements take it to new grounds. The song focuses on parasitic relationships and how to break old patterns of interaction. Cults is the duo of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion.
