Rey Pila – Let It Burn

One of my favorite finds this year is Rey Pila. Think a cross between Sparks and The Presets with a splash of Interpol for good measure. Their latest release, ‘Let it Burn‘, which was produced by Dave Sitek (TV On the Radio), is my favorite track from them thus far. However Disciples IV is a very close second.

Rey Pila is a four-piece band from Mexico City. Rey Pila translates to ‘King Battery’.

stef – Whyamilikethis

Sweet vocals over bubbling/bouncing synth lines. Really enjoy the vocal melody all the way through. It’s a electronic pop track with a solid chorus and tender moments. Stef hails from Nashville, TN.

Rangleklods – Never Lie

Tropical flavor on this track from Rangleklods (aka Esben Nørskov Andersen). It’s a happy sunny day track with a bit of melancholy in the lyrics and vocals. The song fuses tropical beats, pop melodies and a house groove in the chorus.

Another stand out track is the 2011 release ‘Young and Dumb’
