BASECAMP – All That She Want’s (Ace of Base cover)

Now this is an Ace of Base track I can listen to on repeat.   Was never a really a fan of Ace of Base, too sugar pop for my tastes, but this cover is excellent.

Short Bio:

Last year BASECAMP introduced themselves to the world with “Emmanuel,” a gorgeous and eclectic slice of R&B infused dance music that premiered with FACT Magazine. The response for “Emmanuel” was overwhelming, garnering praise from online publications like This is Fake DIY, The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, and Indie Shuffle. The Nashville newcomers quickly followed up this strong debut with a FREE DOWNLOAD of their self-titled EP. Where “Emmanuel” left off, “2 Thingz”, “Rydia”, and “Smoke Filled Lungs” quickly picks up. Seductive vocals with an irresistible R&B timbre reminiscent of James Blake or SBTRKT’s Sampha coalesce with seemingly incongruous musical textures and chords to create beautiful tension in all four tracks of the EP.

The trio followed up the release of their EP with a slew of remixes from names such as Hayden James, Artful Dodger, Blacksmif, STWO, Joe Hertz, Blackedout, andThem Jeans.

Now Aaron Miller, Aaron C. Harmon and Jordan Reyes share a cover of the iconic 90s single “All That She Wants” with Clash Music. Originally recorded by Swedishpop group Ace of Base, “ATSW” re-imagined by BASECAMP is full of “codeine soaked synths, with melodies that display traces of a husky, skeletal take on R&B.” Keep and eye out for the forthcoming 7″ vinyl release featuring both “Emmanuel” and “ATSW”, and be sure to Catch BASECAMP live in Austin where they’ll take the stage for a string of shows at SXSW starting on the 12th of March.
