Yet another great find on thesixtyone.com, this time we have a get up and dance tune with some hip hop flavor. This really gets going about mid-way through, so be sure to let it ride for awhile.
Shoops is a duo (David and Yury) from Montreal, Quebec Canada which features Crookers-esque dance inspired builds and clever well produced vocals — an amalgamation that’s easy to get addicted too.
Fun catchy mix of electronic, dance, and hip hop. Taken from Amanda’s debut full lenght, “I Love You”. This track is in the vein of Madonna’s Music single, but with a little more street cred behind it.
Here’s a track that will grow on you with each listen. Has some old school electro vibe on it with a slick disco-esque chorus. This track is taken from Little Dragon’s full lenght, “Machine Dreams” (due out September 3rd).
Here’s a tune I’ve been meaning to post for sometime now, it’s a dreamy, dark, minimal electronic/techno track from Mr. Westmore. Be sure to check out his profile on thesixtyone.com for more great tunes, and they are all available for download.
So if any of you are like me, I can always do with more Yaz (aka Yazoo). Well… we all know other than the reunion tour from them we haven’t heard anything new, as of yet . However, a superb new track from My Robot Friend has none other than the one and only Alison Moyet. This track so made my day, and to think, I’m also on my way to seeing Depeche Mode tonight, ahhh sweet bliss. ”Retrotastic!!!” indeed.
My Robot Friend – Waiting (ft. Alison Moyet) (removed per request)
Alison has provided vocals for a track on the forthcoming album of New York electronic dance act, My Robot Friend.
The track, marking Alison’s return to her electonica roots, is called Waiting and is featured on Howard Robot’s much-anticipated album release, Soft-Core.The album’s onsale date is October 13th, 2009. It will come out on the independent label, Double Feature Records (CD) and Worried Rainbow (Digital).
New track from the forthcoming Simian Mobile Disco’s full lenght titled, “Temporary Pleasure” due out August 17th. This particular track features the soulfull voice of Beth Ditto of Gossip. Very envious of SMD, I would so love to do a collab with Beth Ditto. This album is really shaping up to be something special.
