Lisa Shaw releases her second artist album on Salted Music, with distribution partner Tommy Boy, and also prepares for an extensive North American tour.“Free” is the beautifully crafted and eagerly awaited second artist album from the lovely Lisa Shaw. Written and produced by Dave Warrin and Lisa Shaw featuring guest producers Miguel Migs, Ethan White from Tortured Soul and Tim K, “Free” is Lisa’s latest studio effort since her debut album “Cherry” on Naked Music released in 2005.
“Free” showcases Lisa’s illustrious voice through a sublime mix of electronic, soul and RnB lovingly packed on one disc. Her voice can be one best described as the ‘dance/electronic Sade’, both aching and soothing. Featured on the album are new house classics such as “Feel”, “All Night High” and “Music In You”, as well as sultry downtempo beauties like “Better Days”, and “Honey”. This album simply has pedigree.
Throughout her career Lisa Shaw has been a proven staple in the deep house world. She has helped define an era with her releases on Naked Music and Salted Music, including the worldwide underground hit “Always”. She has worked with a heavyweight list of producers including the likes of Miguel Migs, Jay Denes, Fred Everything, Julius Papp, Tim Kvasnosky (Home & Garden) King Britt, DJ Smash Hunter and many others. Since 1994 she’s had over 40 releases to date released on labels including Naked Music, Om, Salted, RCA, Grand Central UK, Ministry of Sound, Virgin UK, Astralwerks, NRK and WAVE. She has also performed globally with Miguel Migs, Petalpusher LIVE, Andy Caldwell, Fred Everything, DJ Jask and JT Donaldson.
Lisa originally from Canada, but now residing in New York City, has always been in and out of the press including the New York Times, Billboard, CMJ and URB Magazine, as well as performing live on the distinguished David Letterman Show as a backing vocalist for pop-singer Jewel. Even Madonna paid tribute to “Always” in Rolling Stone Magazine, quoting Lisa Shaw to be “So Cool!”
Keep an eye out for Lisa’s new music video featuring “Tomorrow” which will be aired in February 2009. Also, Salted Music will be giving away the Miguel Migs’ produced track “Honey”, for free download. Lisa’s album will be available to purchase two weeks before stores in a exclusive nationwide boutique hotel group, which is yet to be announced.
